BREAKING... According to reliable sources in both the Michael Russo and Emily Jabbour campaigns, Hoboken can expect to see Jabbour as the next mayor of Hoboken. Minutes earlier, Councilman Michael Russo conceded. She will follow the outgoing mayor, Ravi Bhalla who did not endorse anyone in Hoboken although Jabbour had approved his policies for almost eight years. So the big day is here and there's going to be an outcome to this tremendously long and arduous Hoboken municipal election. It's a non-partisan race as two slates are vying to be a part of Hoboken City Hall led by council members Emily Jabbour and Michael Russo. The debate between the two was uneven with both candidates running into the wall at various times. All of that is background noise. It's a pure GOTV (Get Out the Vote) effort now. So Dawn Zimmer, the former mayor who saw big success with a big tent Reform Movement is back in town today on behalf of Councilwoman Emily Jabbour's bid for mayor. It's not clear if she arrived by pirate ship but maybe she's a chip off the old sailor block by way of the Catskills down the Hudson River. Does outgoing mayor Ravi Bhalla know where she is? That is the burning question of Hoboken Election 2025 as polls are set to open tomorrow. After a dormant period in recent years, where the most vulnerable population in Hoboken's housing authority were no longer exploited with criminal vote buying schemes, questions are again surfacing about the specter of Hoboken election fraud. Is vote buying making a comeback in Hoboken? The questions are being raised after a period of election quiet after Frank "Pupie" Raia was convicted and sent to prison for a vote buying scheme snaring him and a number of other soldiers operating out of his Jefferson St. social club back in 2019. Some disturbing holiday festivities emerged last Tuesday prior to the Thanksgiving holiday and days before the Hoboken runoff election set for tomorrow. The photos from the HHA's Adams Street location proved to be a veritable landmine as questions swirl on possible vote buying or at a minimum influencing operations utilizing $25 gift cards handed out...
