The Empire strikes back...

At least the Third Ward sitting councilman, Michael Russo, Candidate King of Big Developers did. 

The Russo campaign responded on the Hudson County View after the takedown by council and mayoral candidate rival, Tiffanie Fisher fired a shotgun blast of Russo's greatest corruption hits.

Russo declared all such revelations a "lie."

Well, someone is lying. Who can it be?

Here's an example. This original story appeared in real time about the oddity of hundreds of "campaign workers" appearing on a Russo campaign election report for 2015. All the campaign workers came from the fourth and fifth wards. Why they were hired to work on Russo's third ward campaign where he face no opposition is one of those Hoboken Festivus miracles. 

Back then, this editor's annual investigative stories on election fraud were swept under the rug. Michael Russo would brag in a City Council meeting there had been no convictions for election fraud and those saying otherwise were "political operatives."

Later, council members themselves said otherwise, after Ravi Bhalla took a cheap shot from the mayor's perch in early 2018 at the council about the matter. Almost to a person the City Council began retelling stories about election fraud in Hoboken.

The lone exception denying Hoboken election fraud existed, standing alone, loud and proud? Michael Russo.

As Councilman Ruben Ramos, Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher, the late Jen Giattino among others began to spontaneously share their acknowledgements, one after another; it was Michael Russo, the lone stalwart denying it all. 

A little more than a year later, election fraud indictments began flying from the Feds in Newark for both the 2013 and 2015 Hoboken elections. All the indictments stuck, at risk Election Fraud soldiers flipped and Frank "Pupie" Raia's entire social club turned on him at his federal criminal trial in Newark. 

Pupie was convicted, sentenced and went away. Yet, as with the infamous Solomon Dwek Jersey City lunch at the White Horse Tavern, one person did not. Who can it be now? 

This original story on one of the points of contention between Fisher and Russo was published in early 2019.
